As it is the case in all other sectors, the protection of intellectual property rights in the pharmaceutical sector also forms the basis of innovation and advancement. The legal safeguarding of proceeds from new inventions secures the future of innovation-based approaches. The protection of intellectual property rights is of vital importance in the pharmaceutical sector where the development of innovative drugs takes 12 to 13 years and costs nearly 900 million Euros on average.
In order to ensure the protection of intellectual property rights in our country at international standards, the Intellectual Property Rights Committee of the Association of Research-Based Pharmaceutical Companies (AİFD) aims to collaborate with the Ministry of Health, pertinent institutions and sector representatives and to present constructive solutions and improvement suggestions in this area. |
