These practices adopted by the International Pharmaceutical Federation in 1993 are aimed to constitute a standard for all governments, national and international pharmaceutical industry institutions. These practices ensure that health services, drug distribution, promotion and use are handled in accordance with ethical norms and at a high level of quality. Good Promotional Practices were revised by the World Health Organization in 1997 and were re-adopted by the International Pharmaceutical Federation during the same year. Members of the Association of Research-Based Pharmaceutical Companies (AİFD) conduct all their activities and promotional work in compliance with Good Promotional Practices that have been adopted on an international scale. The Good Promotional Practice Committee of the Association of Research-Based Pharmaceutical Companies (AİFD) engages in work that ensures pharmaceutical promotional activities, which play a vital role in allowing our physicians to follow medical developments around the world and to provide the most effective drugs to their patients, are compliant with international standards, European Union arrangements as well as laws and ethics codes. “Code of Promotion Regarding Medicinal Products for Human Use for Healthcare Professionals”, prepared through the immense efforts of this committee, has been distributed to all our members and was put into effect on November 1, 2005 as our Association's fundamental implementation guideline.
