The National Trade Associations (NTA) meeting was hosted this year in Türkiye by AIFD

10.11.2025

The National Trade Associations (NTA) meeting is regularly organized by EFPIA and brings together EFPIA professionals and representatives of member country associations. As the Association of Research-Based Pharmaceutical Companies (AIFD), a member of the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA), we were proud to host this meeting in Ankara, on October 8–9, 2025.

Held each year in a different country, the NTA meeting serves as a key platform to discuss major industry topics such as marketing authorization, clinical research, and inspection processes, as well as to review the current landscape in various countries. This year’s event featured special sessions attended by senior officials from the Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency (TİTCK) and the Turkish Health Institutes Presidency (TÜSEB), enabling productive discussions and an exchange of insights.

Among the distinguished participants were Prof. Dr. Ahmet Ayar, President of TITCK; Eray Kaplan, Vice President of TITCK; TITCK Department Heads Uzm. Ecz. Ömer Hakan Şimşek, Uzm. Dr. Muhammed Emin Çelik, and İbrahim Büyükkurt; Chief Inspector Merve Kılıç Yıldız; and TÜSEB representative Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hilmi Erdem Sümbül. The discussions covered the current status of marketing authorization, clinical research, and inspection processes in Türkiye, as well as planned optimization efforts in the authorization process, ongoing digitalization initiatives across all TİTCK units, and TÜSEB’s growing role in the field of clinical research.

At AIFD, we are delighted to have hosted this important event. We remain committed to collaborating with all stakeholders to support Türkiye’s progress toward an innovative, sustainable, and internationally aligned pharmaceutical ecosystem, and to contribute to the implementation of global best practices in our country.
