The 6th Turkish Medical Summit has been held

The 6th Turkish Medical Summit has been held between 29th and 31st of October within the main theme “Biotechnology” under the auspices of Presidency of The Republic of Turkey, hosted by the Ministry of Health with the scientific support of Directorate of Turkish Health Institutes (TÜSEB).

Mete Hüsemoğlu, MD, the Chairman of AIFD gave a keynote speech at the session “Health Biotechnology in Turkey” on 31 October 2019. Dr. Hüsemoğlu underlined the importance of developing an enabling ecosystem for biotechnology to enhance the competitiveness of Turkish pharmaceutical industry in global markets as well as leveraging Turkey’s position in global pharmaceuticals value chain.

Prof. Dr. Seza Özen and Prof. Dr. Özcan Erel received the “TÜSEB Aziz Sancar Science Award” at the convention’s ceremony for TÜSEB Aziz Sancar Science Award and TÜSEB Encouragement Award. Dr. Dilek Gürsoy received a plaque in recognition of her global contribution to science on international scale while Prof. Dr. Safa Barış, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nurcan Tunçbağ and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Engin Özçivici received the “TÜSEB Encouragement Award”. H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan presented the scientists’ awards.
